The invoice on a used deck is not the cost

A used pallet is cheap on the PO. Then a stringer lets go on the dock, the load shifts, and you buy the reload, the late truck, and the argument with receiving. That is the cost.
We do not reman, recycle, or run a pool. Springfield Lumber chops and resaws boards and cants at 202 Day St, West Springfield. New wood only. If you need a used deck, that is another shop. If you need a known board and a known rating, that is us.
What the cheap deck actually spends
The invoice is one line. The rest shows up as downtime. A cracked deck that will not take a fork. A stamp you cannot trust on export. A 48×40 that was right for the last shipper and wrong for this part. Extra freight because the stack is air. None of that is on the used-pallet quote.
When new is the cheaper call
Export — NeLMA ISPM 15, heat-treat only, no fumigation. Food, pharma, or a customer that will not take a used mark. A finished part that cannot eat a broken board. A computerized load analysis specs the deck so you are not buying extra lumber “to be safe.” Overbuilding is not safer. Spec to the weight.
What we build instead
New pallets and skids. Stringer or block. 2-way or 4-way. Same plant cuts industrial lumber and builds the crate when the job needs them. More on why we stay new-only: new wood pallets.
