Stringer or block. 2-way or 4-way. The dock decides.

The wrong entry on a plant dock is not a small miss. A 4-way block in a one-way lane wastes lumber. A 2-way stringer in a warehouse that turns every pallet wastes time. We build both at 202 Day St, West Springfield. New wood. Spec to how it is picked, not to a catalog size.
Stringer, 2-way
Forks come from two ends. Common on a straight dock and a trailer that loads the same way every time. Less wood if that is actually how you pick it.
Block, 4-way
Forks from all four sides. Staging aisles, racking, a floor that turns the load. You pay for the extra wood only if the dock needs it.
How we call it
Tell us how the fork hits it and what the stack does. A computerized load analysis will show whether the extra board earns its keep. Overbuilding is not safer.
